Aviagen is currently seeking applications for an experienced Poultry Farm Manager. You will need to have very strong technical Production and Rearing farming skills, strong and effective leadership abilities and a thorough understanding of modern Poultry Breeder Farm operations.
Successful candidates will have a proactive, enthusiastic, can do attitude to work and possess ambition and a desire to learn new skills to build an accomplished career in the poultry breeding industry with Aviagen.
A key aspect of each role is the ability to drive continuous improvement in rearing and production processes, ensuring that biological performance of the breeding stock is maximised by following best practices in poultry management, bird welfare and bio-security procedures. Levels of responsibility range depending on position.
The Farm Manager position is hands on and takes accountability for all aspects of farm performance and staff management. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a proven strong track record of success in the poultry industry and previous experience of no less than 5 years in a Farm Manager or Assistant Manager position where technical poultry concerns have been addressed and productivity levels have grown.
The position holder will take ownership of one of a number of brand new poultry farms located just outside Goulburn. These facilities are equipped with the most up to date feeding, ventilation and egg collection systems providing a great platform for achieving high levels of production performance. Previous experience of modern poultry farm equipment would be highly advantageous.
The Farm Manager position is a salaried role and is based on a 40 hour week although weekend work and additional hours may be required to meet the operational needs of the business. A favourable remuneration package will be available for the successful applicant.
