AI Risk Mitigation – Regional Workshops on Farm Biosecurity
The University of Sydney is inviting poultry producers to attend regional workshops on farm biosecurity. The workshops are free and lunch will be provided.
The purpose of the day is to provide producers with a better understanding of biosecurity planning for poultry farms. Producers will present the information gleaned from a National Forum on Avian Influenza Risk Mitigation held during August in Sydney. Producers will learn about the most recent research conducted on AI risk mitigation and some of the identified priorities for biosecurity programs for farms. Producers will have the opportunity to participate in an open forum as well as discussions in a round-table format. Workshops will be held during November in Camden and Maitland in NSW; Frankston and Bendigo in Victoria; and during early December in Ipswich, Qld.

The regional workshops are a key component of a Poultry CRC research and extension project which aims to safeguard the Australian commercial chicken industry from outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza. Co-sponsors in the project include Woolworths and Animal Health Australia.
