Welcome to another edition of eChook.
Poultry industry personnel and scientists involved in poultry R&D will come together in Sydney next week for the CRC’s fifth and final Ideas Exchange.
This year’s meeting will be held at Manly’s refurbished quarantine station from Wednesday 7th October. The theme for this year is The River of Ideas, reflecting the journey from CRC 1 to CRC 2 and the focus of the CRC’s research from 2010 onwards.
Poultry CRC researchers will give short presentations about their work in areas including the production of a necrotic enteritis vaccine and the potential of RNAi technology in the egg industry.
Developments in education and training will be outlined in a session on delivering educational benefits, including a wrap-up from the CRC’s outgoing Educational Coordinator, Julie Roberts and a postgraduate’s perspective from The University of Melbourne’s Kylie Hewson.
Industry representatives will identify the outcomes they want to see from CRC 2 in a session called My Company’s Wish List, and other industry issues such as the implications of the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme and the Primary Industries R, D & E strategies, will be covered on the Thursday.
The Ideas Exchange is a great opportunity for poultry scientists and industry people to share ideas and gain valuable insights from each others’ perspectives and I look forward to seeing many of you there next week.
Regards,
Mingan
