PHA welcomes UQ

Poultry Hub Australia was pleased to recently welcome Prof. Eugeni Roura and Dr. Stanley Chen for a productive visit to our facilities at the University of New England (UNE). The visit provided an opportunity to strengthen collaboration and exchange ideas on how we can work together to push the boundaries of poultry research and innovation.

During their stay, Prof. Roura and Dr. Chen toured our cutting-edge poultry facilities, which are designed to support high-impact research and development in the sector. They engaged with our research teams, discussing ongoing projects and new opportunities to collaborate on key areas of poultry health, nutrition, and productivity.

Poultry Hub Australia also had the chance to showcase some of our recent accomplishments, particularly in research, education, and training. These achievements highlight our ongoing efforts to equip the next generation of poultry scientists with the tools they need to tackle industry challenges. From hands-on training programs to cutting-edge research initiatives, we are committed to creating a strong pipeline of talent and knowledge for the future of the poultry industry.

In addition, we held discussions on how Poultry Hub Australia can continue to support poultry research and researchers moving forward. Ensuring that our research aligns with industry needs while promoting academic growth remains a priority. By investing in the future of poultry science, we aim to foster ongoing innovation that benefits both industry stakeholders and the broader community.

Prof. Roura and Dr. Chen provided a brief update on the progress of their Gut and Nutrition Consortium, which is supported by AgriFutures. The consortium is exploring strategies to enhance poultry performance through improved gut health and nutrition. While the project is still evolving, the early findings are promising and could have meaningful implications for the industry. Both experts emphasised the importance of collaboration in advancing research that offers practical solutions for poultry producers.

Overall, the visit was an invaluable opportunity to share knowledge, showcase our recent wins, and explore how we can collaborate more closely with leading researchers like Prof. Roura and Dr. Chen. We look forward to continued partnerships as we work together to shape the future of poultry research and innovation.
