As part of our poultry job ready training we held an engagement event in Tamworth. It was well attended and very well received. Many young people attended the day at UNE’s Tamworth campus, along with representatives from schools, job providers and the local poultry industry. We would like to say thanks to the team at UNE’s Tamworth campus who ensured the event ran smoothly.
During this event we showcased our training which includes a virtual chicken, biosecurity activities, egg grading and of course Lego chickens. All activities received positive feedback with a focus on the virtual chicken and biosecurity! And of course, the day would not have been complete without a chicken BBQ! This training is aimed at young people ages 15-24 and seeks to engage them in all things poultry, while providing them with useful skills they can use on the job. The training is composed of six modules that are high tech and hands on, followed by work experience. At this stage the training is only open to 15-24 year old people who reside in the New England region of NSW. However, we have plans to extend the training in the future so don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like to be notified of future training. For more information or dates check out this previous post on our website.
